Introduction: In a cancer care service, the creation of a database based on clinical information can support the management of cancer treatment, besides allowing the necessary statistics for control of patients and their characteristics. Future success depends on the management of information, access, use and reuse. Objective: To develop a database structured to enable extraction and analysis of patient information, Discipline of Mastology the Paulista Medical School (EPM-UNIFESP). Method: Observational cohort study through structured form to collect information. Results: In the period between April and September 2013 the bank was constituted with 993 patients, in which, for each, were raised 230 features divided into: complaint that led to assistance, personal history, family history, clinical examination and conduct in the case. Many crosses between information collected in the bank were performed. The pain, the findings on imaging and the lump of abuse were the main reasons for attending the Mastology clinic. Regarding imaging, ultrasonography in 80% of cases detected nodules compared to 61% of mammography. For background, hypertension was the most common clinical complication (32%). The average births per patient was 2.70. In 28% of the contraceptive method used was the hormone. In 14% of cases were reported against family history. Regarding the clinical examination, the average size of palpable lesion was 3,36 cm. The clinical stages were distributed as follows: 0 = 5%; I = 19%; II = 49%; III and IV = 20% = 7%. Conclusion: We developed a structured database, obtaining some important data. However, inadequate completeness of patient records directly interfered in the information gathering process and hampered the analysis of some of some data.
