“Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a Hands On Educational Program in Oncoplasty and Breast Reconstruction of the Brazilian Society of Mastology at the Hospital Araújo Jorge, in Goiânia in 2015. Metodologia: The program was divided into 10 monthly modules, of 24h each one, with 25% of theoretical charge and a 75% hands-on surgery. Classes and operations were coordinated by two local teachers and two different national or international teachers, invited every month. The evaluation of the program effectiveness was measured via an on-line questionnaire answered by the students. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS and it was considered significant a p <0.05. Results: Twelve mastologists participated as students, with a mean age of 42.92 (+10.27). They performed 213 surgical procedures, in 88 patients, using all the main techniques for partial and full breast reconstruction, either for immediate or delayed reconstructions. All students declared themselves very or extremely satisfied with the course and they would indicate it to other colleagues. At the beginning of the course, most students had only some experience in partial reconstructions with simple local flaps. Half of the students referred trouble in finding other colleagues that could perform the reconstruction for their patients. At the end, most students declared themselves confortable to perform partial or total reconstruction of the breast with local flaps, oncoplastic mamaplasties, fat grafting, expanders and implants. Most of them fell confortable to resolve their own complications. More than a third of the students were safe in performing complex reconstructions with miocutaneous flaps. All mastologists said to be interested in continuing to invest in reconstructive technical improvement in different ways. Conclusion: The current program in Goiania benefited many patients and brought a great contribution to the training of the participants.
