BASIC HEALTH CARE IN BREAST CANCER CARE

Universidade Federal de GoiásTo characterize breast cancer care in Basic Health Care in the State of Goiás. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The information was obtained from the national database of the external evaluation of the Program for Improving Access and Quality of Primary Care (PMAQ-AB), second cycle, for the State of Goiás (all municipalities that joined the program ). National survey data collection was conducted from December 2013 to March 2014 through an electronic interview (tablet use and internet network). A total of 975 Basic Health Units from the 246 municipalities of the State of Goiás that responded to module I and 1179 professionals answered the interviews of module II of the third phase of the research, which composes the external evaluation linked to the PMAQ-AB. The data were analyzed through Software Statistical Package of Social Sciences – SPSS version 19.0. For the calculation of these variables, the simple frequency measure was used. Of the 1179 Basic Care Teams interviewed, 79.2% developed educational and health promotion activities aimed at breast cancer, 39.6% had women registered with a mammography examination, 84.8% requested a mammogram And 40.8% had women with an altered mammogram, who were referred to other points of attention, 46.9% had a stratification protocol for breast cancer, and 64.2% had an active search for women with breast cancer. The present study reveals that breast cancer care in Basic Health Care in the State of Goiás is not qualified, organized and integrated to other levels of care, since it does not guarantee that minimum actions are performed satisfactorily.breast cancer
