ONCOPLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY OF THE BREAST: EVALUATION OF THE DEGREE OF SATISFACTION OF PATIENTS OPERATED ON HOSPITAL DE BASE DO DISTRITO FEDERAL

Hospital DE BASE DO DISTRITO FEDERALO ncoplastic surgery represents an advance in breast cancer surgeries and combines oncologic resection with plastic surgery techniques. The aim of this study was to evaluate the degree of satisfaction of patients undergoing reconstructive surgical treatment of breast cancer. A cross-sectional study of 45 patients submitted to surgical interventions in the extension course on oncoplastic surgery, accomplished in the service of mastology of HBDF, among the period of august 2013 to june 2014. The patient’s satisfaction and the evaluation of the corporal image after the breast cancer were measured through questionnaires – BIBCQ Very satisfied and satisfied patients represents 84.44% of the cases. Satisfaction with body image was observed in the 6 BIBCQ scales. The oncoplastic and reconstruction breast surgery has a positive impact on patient’s quality of life, resulting in a high degree of satisfaction with body image.breast cancer reconstruction surgery
