IntroductionGiven the importance of appropriate diagnostic methods and planning on primary care, the actions of promotion and prevention of health, the manager´s figure is seen as essential in the organization and mobilization of health professionals to projects linked at prevention of breast cancer. Thinking about it, this work aims to recognize the impact of management on the control of this morbidity in micro areas of Palmas, TO. Material and MethodsA questionnaire was used, validated by the Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel), concerning the Estratégia Saúde da Família, whose structure is the identification and investigation of the notebook programmatic actions of 12 Unidades de Saúde da Família (USF) in the city, in scope to the main regions, namely: Plano Diretor Norte, Plano Diretor Sul and district attachments (Aurenys and Taquari). ResultsThe information collected in the units show that only 67,2 % of USF have professionals who are dedicated to the planning, management and coordination of control activities of breast cancer, suggesting the absence of these professionals, since there is need for personnel planning the health units. Inside the tiny number of professionals who plan the actions, 39% did not hold meetings to address the problem, showing a deficit in quality management, since meetings are inherent in working with breast cancer. In addition, 75% of professionals who monitor and evaluate such preventive actions produce reports.ConclusionIt’s noticeable that the reality of the USF estudied appears to be different from that expected in effective health system, as the data obtained from the questionnaire showed situations where the management of these units occurred inefficiently. This fact calls for holistic research and development proposals, seeking improvements in the supply of detection and control of breast cancer for the local population.
