MARKING TIME AND SCREENING FOR BREAST CANCER SCREENING IN WOMEN AGED 50-69 YEARS

Goias Federal UniversityTo describe the time interval between breast biopsy marking and its accomplishment and anatomopathological results in women between the ages of 50 and 69 years. This was a descriptive study, using data available from the DATASUS Tabnet and Breast Cancer Information System (SISMAMA) from June 2014 to July 2015. The data were analyzed in excel and presented in absolute and relative frequencies. From June 2014 to July 2015, a total of 6,156 breast pathological exams were performed in Brazil. The time interval between marking the biopsy examination and its accomplishment was 0-10 days in 45.65%, 11-20 days in 33.22%; 21 to 30 days in 13.19% of and more than 30 days in 7.94%. The collection interval and the histopathological result was 0-10 days at 97.47 %%; 11-20 days in 0.96%; 21 to 30 days in 0.65% and of more than 30 days in 0.93%. It was observed that the time interval between marking the biopsy examination and its accomplishment, as well as the collection interval and the histopathological result were more prevalent of 0-10, thus showing that the achievements of these tests are being accurate.anatomopathological examination, Brazil, breast cancer, early diagnosis, screening
